| After years of research and extensive travel, we have had the good fortune to find several dogs with old foundation genetics. Our dogs would compliment any breeding program that has an interest in the “Old Style” Scott type American Bulldog. With special thanks extended to Mr. Alan Scott and Darrin Jones, we have successfully acquired and bred some of these fine animals and have developed our own "strain" of working American Bulldogs. If you are looking to maintain a true working, athletic, bulldog, you may be very interested in some of our dogs. |

| We prefer the “old type” or Scott strain of dogs. We find that their temperament and physical ability suit our needs. We have gone on 16 mile plus, horseback rides in 85 -90 degree heat which included the mid-west humidity, our bulldogs stayed with us, usually leading the way. I have found few breeds capable of this feat. The different strains all started as the same / and or similar dog. Kittles, Scott, Williamson, Tate, Bailey, etc. bred similar dogs with emphasis on working ability. J.D. Johnson, aspired to breed “giant” bulldogs and branched of in a different direction. Joe Painter purchased most of his foundation stock from Alan Scott. Painter’s dogs were bred for gaminess due to their application in the “fighting arena”. Many of Painter’s early dogs were pure Scott dogs with names often changed. Today the strains are generally broken down into two categories, the Scott and the Johnson. The larger strains are usually thicker and often larger overall with less athletic ability, less stamina. |

| Our breeding program includes only dogs that are proven in either personal protection and or catch work. We guarantee our dogs to be healthy and free of any serious, incapacitating, genetic faults to include structure and temperament. Should there be a problem with the dog we will replace the dog with a pup of YOUR CHOICE from any of our available puppies or upcoming litters. We do not offer “pet quality” or “show quality” dogs, just “quality”. We strive to breed and provide only one type of American Bulldog, and that is a true working American Bulldog. |

| We also provide a full refund or another puppy for anyone who achieves a Schutzhund I title, French Ring Sport title, Confirmation Championship, or Police Dog Title with a dog purchased from Bear Paw Kennels. |
